About the Farm
Clayfield Farms is a flower farm in Archbold, Ohio. Our mission is to provide beautiful, fresh, and local flowers to the Northwest Ohio community during the spring and summer months. We hope our flowers bring color and joy into your home and help you care for yourself, your loved ones, and the natural world.
Clayfield Farms is located at 2454 County Road 21-3, Archbold Ohio. The farm is not open to the public except for people picking up pre-ordered bouquets. Our self service stand (out by the road) is open during the spring and summer months.
Hello Everyone! I'm Cara Rufenacht, founder of Clayfield Farms
I fell in love with the dream of flower farming while working as a wedding photographer in Pittsburgh PA. I loved seeing the colors and personality that fresh flowers brought to celebrations! Flowers have the undeniable ability to bring life and happiness to any occasion.
When my husband and I decided to move back to Ohio, I started growing flowers. I had always loved growing things and was thrilled to finally have enough space to plant anything I wanted.
Farming runs deep in my family so growing flowers is a way for me to participate in agriculture while still satisfying my creative spirit. Gathering new and unique combinations of colors, shapes and texture is my favorite part of this adventure.
What We Grow
April - May Spring Flowers
Spring is a big deal here at Clayfield Farms because it's when people are most excited for flowers!
During the spring we grow lots of tulips, ranunculus and peonies. These flowers are sold through our Spring Bouquet Subscriptions and at our Self-Service Stand. We also offer bouquets and arrangements for Mother's Day. Check our online shop for more details.
July - September Summer Flowers
Our summer season runs roughly mid-July through the end of September. This is when the field grown flowers really shine! We grow lots of zinnias, sunflowers, lisianthus, gomphrena, statice, eucaluptus, cosmos, dahlias, celosia and more.
Our summer bouquet subscriptions run during this time and the self service stand is open a few days a week. We also sell bulk buckets and hand-tied bouquets for weddings July - September.
October - December Fall & Holiday Offerings
We aim to have fresh flowers until frost. Sometimes that means the fresh flower season ends at the end of September, but other years we continue to have fresh flowers well into October.
During the Holiday Season we sell monthly calendars, potted amaryllis bulbs, and bouquet subscriptions for the next growing season.
